About Kilbride
Kilbride is a neighborhood on the southern outskirts of St. John's. With a population nearing ~6,000 people, Kilbride is a highly residential.
Not only is our neighbourhood beautiful, with many wonderful and friendly people, but it is a community with a deep, rich history. Considered one of the oldest neighbourhoods in St. John's, it has seen many changes throughout the years.
In 1863, Bishop John Thomas Mullock, officially opened the 'magnificent stone church' in Kilbride. This Roman Catholic church was one of five commissioned by Bishop Mullock and was used by the community until it tragically burned down in 1892.
Until 2019, there has never been an evangelical, Gospel-centred service in Kilbride.
Route 10 Community Church will be a church in a hard place.
Hope for Kilbride and the Goulds
In 2018, Mile One Mission began to assemble a planting team, led by Matthew Lahey.
Despite a global pandemic, the Lord has grown the core team to include 3 families with one travelling all the way from Billoxi, Mississippi.
In the fall of 2019, R10 put on it's first community Bible study and saw 1 person attend.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and everyone going into lockdown and practicing physical distancing, God blessed Route 10 Community Church with the ability to engage with Kilbride and the Goulds over social media. Throughout the pandemic, we watched the Lord move in our neighbourhood and grow our gathering from 8 people at a community Bible study to having monthly services with 20+ people in attendance.
We have had many opporunitities to bless our community by handing out flowers to mom's on Mother's Day, handing out root beer and Dad's cookies to dad's on Father's Day; we've also had opportunities to bless our local fire fighters and our local community centre!
We are so thankful for how God has moved in our neighbourhood and in the hearts of people in our community.

“We want R10 to be a church in the community, for the community, by the community and made up of the community. We aim to do six key things for Kilbride: BE like Christ, LIVE like Christ, LOVE like Christ, TALK like Christ, SERVE like Christ and REVEAL Christ.”
