Our Story

A brick church building with a white roof and steeple, parking lot with several cars, and a background of residential houses and green hillside.

Mile One Mission began in 2019, as a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, when our church saw the clear need for more gospel-centered churches in our province.

A large church with two clock towers on either side and a cross at the top of the middle section, with residential buildings in the foreground.

Only 1% Evangelical

St. John’s, our capital city, is one of the least churched and most forgotten regions of North America.

The St. John’s Metro Area has a population of approximately 250,000 people but only 2,400 attend any type of gospel-preaching church on an average Sunday.

This means that just under 1% ATTEND any type of EVANGELICAL church on an average Sunday in St. John’s.

What began as a hopeful prayer has grown into a movement of God. So far we have planted 4 churches, and the Lord is continuing to bring people to the faith.

We are blown away with what God has done and even more hopeful for what He will do on the Rock.

Lord willing, we will see 17 churches planted as the Lord Jesus saves people across our province.
