In 2019 Mile One Mission planted its first church—Route 10. By God’s grace, we planted DCC in 2021, & replanted NCC in 2023.

Phase 1

Phase 2

  • The home of the first of our phase 2 plants. Located in the heart of St. John’s the neighborhood, Rabbittown is home to many generational Newfoundlanders, university students, and a growing immigrant population.

  • A growing coastal community where several families have expressed a desire to see Mile One Mission plant a church. Their interest highlights a desire to establish a gospel-centered church that can build meaningful relationships,establish a vibrant gospel presence in the community.

  • A long-established community in St. John's with deep Catholic roots and a strong sense of local identity. Its close-knit nature and limited evangelical presence present a meaningful opportunity for a gospel-centered church plant to establish a faithful, long-term presence in the community. 

  • A rapidly growing town that borders the west end of St. John's and continues to attract young families and new residents. Its proximity to the city and expanding population make it a great location to present a significant opportunity for a gospel-centered church plant to serve the needs of a growing community.

Phase 2 began with the planting of Rabbittown in 2024. Lord willing, we will see 3 more churches planted in the greater St. John’s area.

Phase 3

  • A residential neighbourhood in west St. John's, where it is great potential to cultivate meaningful relationships and serve people in everyday life. A church planted here can become a place of hope, discipleship, and gospel witness within the neighbourhood. 

  • A town with rich history and a strong sense of community 15 minutes west of St. John’s. Planting a church here offers the opportunity to become a trusted, long-term presence that points people to Christ while serving the changing needs of the community.

  • Serves as a gateway to several communities along the northeast Avalon. A church plant here can become a place where people find authentic community, biblical teaching, and the hope of the gospel.

  • A centrally located neighborhood in St. John's, surrounded by a diverse mix of families, students, and residents. Planting a church here would create opportunities to engage people from many walks of life and extend its ministry into the surrounding neighborhoods.

Phase 3 will begin continue our expansion outside of St. John’s to some major populations outside of the city.

Phase 4

  • A growing community that serves as the gateway to Newfoundland's east coast and the Bonavista Peninsula. Its strategic location creates a unique opportunity to establish a church that can faithfully reach both local residents and the many surrounding communities connected to it 

  • Has a rich history of serving others and continues to play an important role in Newfoundland. A church planted here can build on that legacy by becoming a faithful presence that points people to Christ and invests in future generations. 

  • One of central Newfoundland's largest communities, where community life is built through neighbourhoods, schools, workplaces, and local organizations. A healthy local church can become a consistent presence that serves its neighbours and points people to the hope of Christ. 

  • A significant city in the life of western Newfoundland, with people regularly travelling to the city for work, services, and community life. Planting a church here provides an opportunity to invest in a community whose influence extends well beyond its city limits.

  • A resilient northern community with a unique culture shaped by its location and industries. Establishing a church here would provide a faithful, long-term gospel presence in a region where access to healthy local churches is near non-existent. 

Phase 4 will be our final stretch of planting as we aim to plant in the major metropolitan areas across the island and on the mainland in Labrador.
