Matthew Rodgers (Intern - Downtown Community Church)

Email: mattrodgers@mileonemission.ca

My name is Matthew Rodgers, and I am from St. John's, Newfoundland. I have been an intern with Mile One Mission since 2021. I am currently working as an intern for Downtown Community Church. While working at Mile One, I completed my Bachelor of Theology from Heritage College and Seminary in Cambridge, Ontario. I am excited to see how God will continue working here in Newfoundland and Labrador. I enjoy reading and continuing to further my growth and education.

Matthew Rodgers (Intern - Downtown Community Church)

My name is Elliot Miles, and I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. At age 18, I moved to Dallas, Texas, to study Christian Studies and Philosophy at Dallas Baptist University to become a Children’s pastor. Once I graduated with my undergraduate degree, I moved to Houston, Texas, and worked with a church called Champion Forest Baptist Church. I joined their residency program for ministry students and worked in kids ministry for about two years.

With a Masters in Children's ministry from DBU under my belt, I set out to join Mile One Mission to learn about church planting in Newfoundland and Labrador.  This is a journey of growth and learning, as I strive to become a better pastor and deepen my practical ministry skills. I am grateful for the opportunities God has blessed me with-the chance to grow in discipleship, learn how to do ministry in a different culture, and foster a deeper love for God’s church.
